Dear Anish kumar Pandey,

I can understand your problem, because I'm also working in construction industry and in this industry lots of people are present who will teach you, what you have to do this and what you have not to do? generally they understand that HR is only for providing service.

But don't lost your Patience you make command over statutory work like contract Labour Act-1970, BOCW Act-1996, and other HR work, if they will disturb you like we have not getting proper accommodation facility, food problem and other basically attendance( they will be absent and their senior will told you that he was present that day) problem will occur, for attendance problem you can talk to your Head and Project Manager regarding this problem and convince them for bio-metric machine and for accommodation and food you request to your project Manager for recruiting individuals in facility department. you keep busy yourself in completeness of statutory work.

Kindly requested to other senior member of Cite HR Suggest another way to Mr. Pandey that he can feel satisfaction and implement HR policy at site.

Thanks and Regards

Dear Ashish,
There are aspects two for your scenario, (please forgive me for my bluntness - but i want to help you) either your capacity to handle issues is less, I'm not judging, you are your best judge. Else you need a way out of this issue. And the first step for a way out, is to ask them confidently as to what their expectations from your profile are? secondly tell them that you've some expectations too. In your case, you decide that those expectations don't match. And accordingly you can request them to release your from your services since if you are not happy you cant work. If this doesn't work, keep in mind the consequences of absconding as an employee, if that's the only option.
Keep in mind, your every decision should be logical and legal/ethical, should not be emotional.

At such an young age, you cant expect miracles to happen. You should be a patient learner. Further, it is not necessary that you should look for job satisfaction only in respect of HR activities. Look around and you will find lot of other opportunities in the same job site, which you may start liking also. It is not necessary that somebody should tell you to do only a specific work. You start helping the Stores Manager or Logistics Support. If some Admin activities are there, you can help them also to keep yourself busy and also a learn something new and different. Who knows, one fine day, such exposure will give you an opportunity to get into newer avenues as well.

Keep your eyes open and look around and you will find something different. Also, use your spare time to learn new things in HR itself by reading articles, the latest developments etc. If you have access to computer, download articles on HR and save them. Read at leisure and improve your knowledge.

Dont lose hope so soon... The world is big, opportunities are abundant.

Best wishes

Please do not feel frustrated with your job. But I think, you have failed to understand the nature of job at construction companies. It is not at all white collared job, but a blue collared only. Promoters/Builders of any company are not professionals. To say merely , they do not know basic manners and use only filthy and vulgar words in the office and every where. Man-handling will also be frequent occurrences. Salaries will not be paid regularly. You have to do only a policing job in the name of HR management. No time sense at all. Once one project is completed, another one will come up. The above are all simple guidelines and indicative to you.

Await a good time. Learn a lot though you do not love this job. Similarly there are many industries are in India. Nobody would set right the issues. Money i the only motive of the promoters.

Why do you I say all the above to you. I also underwent such a situation when i began my days in Personnel department as Personnel Officer, with my Law Degree. I did all the nasty and thankless job. I had an acute local language problem too, being a South Indian and worked at Bihar.

Do not worry. Be positive. Man Management function takes a gradual shape but nota sudden one.

Best wishes. .

Dear Mr Ashish,

I go with you 100% since in a construction site what an HR man can do.... And as you said ...........since there is no HR job for you at the site you will have to do all the unwanted / unrelated and nuisance jobs which are alloted to you by your puppet boss. My sincere advise to you that you should not leave the job without getting another one on hand. As young man....... you should not be without a job for any kind of period. You should be in job and keep trying and from your words you are qualified HR man.... Then Why do you worry.... but pl. do not leave the job.... Keep trying and you will get....

You r from which place.... pl. lt me know..... send me your CV to my personal ID " " I will also try to get you a decent job... But before that I wanted to know you are from where.... then only I can help you.

Pl. do not leave your heart and mind... For any human being this kind of situation will come but it is not permanent one... Life is a cycling..... good time will come to you..... all the best...

Hello Ashish,

I hope you might have figured out a way already knowing the responses from Seniors. However, when I read your query, to me it seemed either incomplete or too open and vague to be concluded in any way one wishes to.

What do you mean by nuisance activity not related to HR?

What is your qualification?

How many years of experience you have prior to this job role and at what level or designation?

Again job satisfaction is a vague term. It would mean something to you and something else to me. So I would like to ask what is it that would make you satisfied with you job - Better pay, some specific profile (if so, what), recognition and appreciation, etc.

Can you elaborate? What do one mean by Manager harassing me????

Do you have an appointment letter? What does the separation policy of your company say?

Notice period, notice buy out etc.

Now, different people will give you different advices based on their own understanding. But finally it should be you who should be taking a decision.

As for me, Honestly, I found your post incomplete to the extent of the above said question, that even if I want to help you, am unable to advise you on anything.
