HI All,
I have a query related to calcculation of payroll based on 30 days standard instead on Month Days.
Case 1: If an employee joins on 13th of october (month days are 31) and the pay calculation is happening based on 30 days, then what would be the salary if Gross is Rs 20000 and for how many days the payment will be done?
Case 2: If an employee joins on 10th of Feb (month days are 28) and the pay calculation is happening based on 30 days, then what would be the salary if Gross is Rs 20000 and for how many days the payment will be done?
Please help me out.

Hi Sridhar,
If an employee joined on 13th Oct, the ED(Earn Days) will be 19 days and salary break up amount will be converted as per earn days. eg., basic is 10000 then for 19 days basic will be INR 6129 (10000*19/31).
All the break up components will be devided as above and paid to the emplyee.
I Hope the above mentioned example will help you in calculating Earn Days and payments.

Dear Sridhar,
As mentioned by prem above. Calculation for no. of days remain same for any month.
ie., (each individual salary component) / 30* (no of days Present in the month)
refer to excel attached.

Dear sridhar any one can not tell his salary for 19 days because every company has it's own criteria to split the salary i.e.,Basic,HRA,Compansatory Allowance,City Compensatory Allowance,Special Allownce like this first you have to decide how much % will be given to Basic,HRA and soon after that we will caliculate the amount what he will get.if you are give 40% to basic he will get some net amount. if you are give 50% to basic he will get diffrent net amount. So first you decided what criteria you will follow

Dear All,
Think suppose an empoyee works for 8 days in an org with a salary of 5000 then if 5000/30*8 comes around 1333 and if the actual months total days are taken it come 5000/28*8==1428,here the employee is the loser.
Think other side Suppose an employee works for 19 days in Jan then 5000/30*19==3167 if for jan 31is taken as total working days then 5000/31*19==3065 so employer is the loser.
Can u suggest any solutions.

Dear Prem,
payroll calculation should be like this Salary=(Gross Salary/Calender Days)*Present Days
example (20000/31)*19=12258 for Oct month.
if you calculate as (20000/30)*31=20666.6 for Oct Month
for Feb (20000/30)*28=18666.6
either you calculate as per the calender days or consider 28 days as 30 days and 31 days as 30 days and always divide salary by 30 days figure will be same but this practice is wrong and confussion will take place.
