Talk to the organisation who will be doing the certification process.
In my experience, you will not be able to retain your certification if you have not complied with all the processes and procedures and maintained complete and accurate records.
However, you may be able to get an extension of time to ensure your processes and records are complete and up to date.

The new OHSAS 18001:2007 standard was published during July of 2007. It replaces OHSAS 18001:1999. OHSAS 18001 applies to all types of organisations, designed in a way that businesses large or small can maintain their OH&S systems effectively. OHSAS 18001 was designed to help organisations to manage and control their OH&S risks and through continual improvement and monitoring, improve their OH&S performance.

Any company wish to for certification of ISO for the first time should appoint a consultant who will guide you in getting ISO Certification. They will prepare Quality Manual of your company, impart training on ISO Awareness, Internal Auditors Training programme, help in conducting first internal audit. Simultaneously you have to appiont a certifying body like DNV, Bureau Veritas, etc. After intimating your readiness for certification they will come and audit. It may be difficult for the first time to follow but later on it will become a routine job. If you want any clarification please contact me @ dsraoaims@rediffimail.com or my mobile No.9966850476.
Best of luck!
