Hey hi dear,
Definitely recruitment consultancy experience is counted in HR, because it is the base of HR.Any organization or MNC u would like to work for will not give u generalist profile at initial stage, because they need experience people for that and if u work for consultancy u can groom yourself with different recruitment techniques, so that if u join in any mnc..u will have good and sufficient knowledge about ur job.slowly u can divert urself to oher fields in HR along with recruitment, however u should be master in one area of HR..to prove urself. I hope this is sufficient for u...If any help required..feel free to ask them...

It depends on what kinds of profile you handle in consultancy.
If you are in recruitment, then only sales driven organisation (insurance/stockbroking/real estate) will prefer to hire you at entry level, if you have done mass recruitment .Other organisations will prefer to recruit candidates from college campuses. At middle level, they will prefer candidates from their industry.
If you are in any of the generallist activity, then you might not get a call from any company. Actually for generallist role at entry level ,companies prefer to hire candidates from college campuses.At middle level, will prefer to hire candidates from their industry.
This is a normal trend in the industry, however exceptions are always there.
Nobody knows ..you might get a call from a good company. ..so don't be upset. ..be confident. .
