There are also software solutions that do the drawing for you, if you provide proper data. Maybe you want to check out Ingentis ( Org Chart Software).

You can also draw chatrs by using Edraw software. www.edrawsoft.com It is very good software.

Now, I see that there is something that I can add value/tip to. Try mind manager pro 7.0. It is a trial download for 30 days. Try it once, it not only makes org charts painlessly but also other kinds of flow charts and decision making charts.
