Respected seniors, This Ramu working in the manufacturing industry at Vijayawada, AP. I need one clarification on Manpower as a factory license.
Our Factory is having a license with maximum workers limit of 250. Whereas we are engaging workmen 100 per day in 3 shifts including general shift. My query is for complying with the factory act (providing restroom, canteen, drinking water, etc) which strength we have to take into consideration. Whether engaging strength or approved manpower as per factory license. I request respected seniors please clarify my query.

Worker in factory act includes contract workers
So you need to count total workers in the factory as per the muster roll
Since you have more than 250 workers, you need to apply for modification of your license to include a larger workforce. You will also need to do all the things needed for a factory with more than 250 workers (eg have a full time medical officer)

Dear Ramu, Since you are engaging only 100 workmen(This includes everyone working in your premises, be it executives/supervisors/workmen/contract labour), the compliances as applicable to 100 only would apply. Licensed strength has no reference at this point for these matters.
Regards.

Dear Ramu, As you have 250 workmen on licence and engaging only 100 the laws applicable will be only of 100 not 250 \"BUT\" the licencing authority may question you for workmen facility which you are supposed to provide at hiring 250 workmen.
