As applying for labour licenses is also become online process now a days, so in this case you've to take fresh labour license as labour department will not renew labour license. In case, you've applied for renewal before the due date and have acknowledgement of the same from labour deprtment then they are supposed to renew even though it is expired now. But, if you've not applied for renewal and it is expired then you've to take new license. You can initiate the process of taking security deposit back from labour department for old license as you've to again pay it for new license.

As per Rule 29 of the Contract Labour (R & A) Rules, if the application for renewal cannot be made within the time specified, a fee of 25 per cent in excess of the fee normally payable for the licence shall be payable for such renewal. Therefore you may approach the Licencing Officer and get your Licence renewed by paying the fees. Regards.

some state govt labour depts.still manual.some are online centrl labour is still manual..some collect fee for 3yrs at a time.some are for one year ..what is urs. when did it lapsed.
