Dear All,
please guide me...
Is it ok for a person who has achieved a very gud designation in an early age but with a less reputed pvt company on an ok-ok package to go on a lower designation but with a high packeage ,a very good brand and banner and relatively bigger area of responsibilities?
Would his previous(higher designation) be considered for his further progress in his career afterwards?

Dear Kavitha,
Greetings!
To my knowledge it is not wrong. Check which job gives you JOB SATISFACTION, LEARNING, Relevant RESPONSIBILITY, EXPERIENCE,etc..
designation doesnt matter for working..

Dear Kavita
as jhon says designation does not matter. i had a same situation in past but i had taken right decision at that time which has given me a lot to learn, better prospect, in life.
if you are intrested in package/designation then you will not get the exposure of working in bigger companies. specially in HR.
Thanx

Dear Kavitha
You must go ahead if you are getting better responsibilities in a bigger/better company that too with higher salary. Dont bother about the designation. First of all, please understand that designations have different meanings/importances in different companies. What would you do with the designation if you are not getting proper learning / exposure.
I think you must go ahead with this opportunity.

It depends upon ur individual priority.
1. Do you care more for the designation or the work responsibility.
2. Would you be happy with the money in small organization or feel proud working in a big company.
3. Would u feel a little hesitant telling ur friends and known people that u r in a lower position.
4. If u choose the big company, and after a while u leave the org. Giving another interview would be a bit of a problem, asthe interviewer may probably think why did u work for a lower designation.
5. Also wide area of responsibility means what?? May be more manpower time. Can u afford to give that.
It depends upon what do u want in life? ur aspirations, ur goals, aim, etc.
If i had a choice, i would have opted the big company, coz working with a big company with many people, and learning more would be my first priority.
all the best to u.

Hi All,
Thank you all for the valuable suggestions...as every one agreed ,one should always opt for a bigger company for learnings and hard core job experiences..and even I myself carry the same opinion .
I was a bit confused..after having your opinions ..can take a firm decision...thanks a lot once again. :D

Never switch to lower designation.
A HR manager ina small co. should not join as a recuiter or associate in a Big Brand. Your role will be confined or restricted. There will not be any scope to grow nor there will anyone listen to you or help you.
In a small co. you can devise policies, make decisions. In short you can be master in a small co. , in a Big brand you will be unnoticed.
Its my personal experience. You need to follow hierarchies in BIG brands and mostly you will have no choice. You cannot grow further, there will no job rotation nor there is career planning. (exception exist, but rare)
You can be a Lion in a Den or you can be a parrot in a cage. Choice is yours.
thanks

Dear Mr. Ram,
I do agree with what you say..chote jungle ka raja hona zyada behtar hai bajay bade jungle ki bakri hone se...........(i don't know what is it in English)
But what to do when you do not feel there is much to do(actually when there is no scope for furhter improvements..not a single sign of it) ..and you are bounded from so many angles..that you cannot put a single step furhter on your own...????
I feel then what others have said so far ,is right. If you have something to share on this..I would like to hear from you ....if you can... please. This would help me in making a decision ...pl help me out.
