Dear Mr.Rupinder,
First of all my suggestion is to attend the interview, if you don't have the knowledge about generalist better to attend the interview, atleast you willl have the exposure and if it clicks ok if not you can continue the present job.

Hi Rupinder,
This is completely your call. With new job comes new responsibilities. Discuss with the consultant and understand the roles and responsibiluties better and think through. If you are confident enough that you'll be able to take-up the challenge and will be able to sail through the interview and further would be able do justice to the job, then go for it.
Think wisely.. Gud luck !!

Dear Rupinder,
Great. You have taken first step to get out of YOUR comfort zone.First of all, go with positive frame of mind.
So what if you have no experience of certain facets of HR field. You can always learn. It is not difficult to handle once you get over your initial hesitation.
Thats the way to go.
Good luck.
