Well Preeti, what i think is that Letter Head for this job is a professional and mandatory requirement but the same role from company seal can be xpctd. if you can, you must use Company Seal/Stamp.

Your doubt is quite normal. But I would like to inform you that company seal is not mandatory on an appointment letter as far as it is printed on their company letter head. But authorized signature is mandatory in order to confirmation of your appointment.
So make sure that authorized signature is there.

no in letter head its not required becasue its already printed the company name; but if you are written anything in palin papaer then its compulsary for seal of comapy or its authority

nowadays noone uses seal / rubber stamp except government offices and security people in companies to receive goods also if it is in plain paper you need seal authorization...
now most companies dont also have inward outward for communication / letters....

company seal is neccesary when u r giving an appointment letter even when u r given on aletter head from the hr to other person hr stamp is necessary otherwise it will not be valid.
for example when company has appointed gm u have to give it on a letter hed with company seal /stamp attested by the concrened person
