I just wanted to know what is the practice of other industires where some holidays falling on Sundays like , May day or Gandhi Jayanthi, any compensatory holiday is given on some other day, please share with

Dear Murthy,
Government employees will get 20 to 23 festival holidays in a year. But in general practice, private industries will give only 9 festival holidays in a year other than sundays/ saturdays.
In these 9 days, the following are the national holidays
Republic Day, Independence Day, May Day, Gandhi jayanthi
If these days fall on sundays these 4 days should be adjusted with other festivals.
