I am new to this website/forum and this is my first post.If this question has been answered, kindly redirect me.otherwise thank you in advance for your kind advice.
My name is Vishal.I recently joined a small company, its been 1.5 months now.I still have not been given the offer letter and was told that it will not be given as it was misused by one of the employees before.(Not sure what happened).All my colleagues who have been working since the last 2 years have the letter.
My question is should I continue with this company or will it pose a problem later on(during my next job).I do not even have the payslips, since they never handout the payslips.Its only a cheque thats given at the end of the month.
Will it pose a problem while filing taxes .I have never filed taxes before, this would be my first time.
P.S.I got my first pay cheque though, but the cheque was deposited in the bank so I have no copies of the cheque.

Dear Vishal,
Even with the offer letter only you can't justify that you are working with any Company. This is the Appointment Letter which in itself justify of your working with the organisation.
You need to check only your Accounts statement that who is the payer of your salary.. Is it coming with Company accounts or someone's personal account. If its paying through the Company Account, then with the Bank Statement you may go for the filing of your IT returns and may convince others that you are working with that particular organisation.
But yes, you must ask for the Appointment letter which will carry all the terms & conditions of your employment.

Professional companies issue offer letter. This serves as the employment contract between the employer and employee. Without an employment contract, an employee can be easily exploited. There is no point in continuing in such a company unless you do not have any other choice.

the check I received has the name of the company, so one thing is clear that its not a personal check.And good to hear that this would suffice while filing my taxes.What a relief.But yes, since i dont have this offer letter, I don't know the terms and conditions like number of hours, leaves etc.

Its only since Sep that they stopped giving offer letters.Since then its me and one more person who joined.So, both of us are wondering what we should do.Both of us are entry level engineers.
In one way we're happy that we have this opportunity to work in an IT which would give us experience, at the same time we are sad that if lets say after a year we go to a big company, we would not be entertained.
btw there was a deduction of Rs100 which when upon my enquiry I was told that its for PT.
We're scared that without experience we wouldn't get another job and so do not want to leave this one.

thats true, an employment contract gives a true picture of what is expected of the employee and what the prospective employee expects in return from the employer benefits, leave policies etc.

I am bhaskar bagchi...was working in a small company like firm...the company gave me contractual site supervisor.they didnot give me any offer/appointment letter and salary in cash.my question - is there mandatory to give me appointment letter or offer letter ?company told me i am not your permanent stuff only contractual stuff for 1 year.
