Employers contribution of PF is deducted from emloyees salary. Can this be legally challenged?

Yes, you may approach the RPFC in this regard. Up to ceiling limit it is the obligation of the employer to contribute. Beyond ceiling either employer can contribute or not. But in any circumstances there is no right to deduct employer contribution from the employee.

Yes, an employer cannot deduct or recover the same in any manner, his share of contribution from the employees salary/wage.

In CTC regime, the employer contribution is also reflected in the CTC structure in order to inflate the CTC. It can not be categories as deduction from salary. regards R.Ponraj

I agree with pon1965 (above)- now-a-days, CTC comprises of employer's contribution too
The employer can recover his contribution from employee - written in the PF act (not 100 % sure - read somewhere).
Its advisable to employers to disclose the same while hiring the employee - as this can be a shocker.
