If somebody accepted the offer letter of a company and after the acceptance when he resign from the current job and employer wants to retain the employee and the employee also likes the retention offer given by the existing employer.
Then if the employee change his mind and apologize to new employer for not joining as he wants to be in the same organization. then what will be the repercussion's are there in future. whether the new employer will black list the employee and he will never eligible to join the organization in future.

Dear Deepak,
It will depend from company to company.Certain companies do blacklist such candidates.
There is no hard and fast rule.
There are numerous instances of employees being offered better CTC after he puts in papers.
There are companies who do not mention CTC in offer letter merely to circumvent the offer letter from being used as tool to extract better CTC from current employer .

Yes there is no any hard & fast rules.

I have a point to be discussed for black listing the employee.

If at all any employee resigns & confirms joining the new organisation is it fair to black list him/her?

If at all he/she is potential candidate can't you consider him for future employment?

You just don't think blindly & black list the employee. Think the other side. If at all any employee puts down the paper finally don't you have any retention strategy to retain the employee due to his performance, project requirements etc...? If at all he/she is retained then do you think as it is unfair practice?

I strongly disagree in blacklisting the employee who is been retained by the existing employer.

There are many candidates who will have offer letters in hand & resign from the company & even then they will be looking for other opportunities using the offer letter to demand more pay. What do you wanna do for these candidates?

What are the steps you have taken as alternate in his/her position?
