Hi, I have enrolled myself in a diploma from the Indian Society for Training and Development, however, I am considering dropping out since I got a job as an instructional designer. If I decide to pursue it, how will it affect my career? Will I face any problems if I don't? Also, people who have done this diploma, how has it affected your career?

There are good features and shortcomings with the ISTD Diploma. Following is the analysis:
Positives: -
a) The ISTD is an institute recognised by the government of India. Therefore, their fees are less. This is a major advantage over the private institutes or the training companies that take hefty charges.
b) The course is designed for those who have MBA (HR) qualifications. If you are MBA (HR), then it will become easy for you to do the course.
c) Qualification once acquired, remains with a person throughout life. Nobody can snatch it away from the holder. The certificate will add some value in your CV.
Shortcomings: -
d) The course curriculum is old. It is more theoretical.
e) The essence of employee training lies in measuring the ROI of the training. The course curriculum does not prepare the students on this count.
f) Far from measuring the ROI, the course curriculum does not teach even how to prepare the training calendar or on what basis to prepare it. The students continue to grope in the dark.
g) Notwithstanding the comments given in (e) and (f) above, we cannot find fault just with ISTD, The private players are also guilty on this count as much as ISTD. Neither do they teach their students to measure the ROI nor how to make a training calendar.
Final comments: - Doing ISTD Diploma while working is no easy task. It will stress you also. Therefore, if possible find out a friend who can help you. Otherwise, hire a paid consultant also. However, you may slog now to derive life-long benefits.

You should not drop the course as it is having validity of 04 years so you can try to appear in the exam each semester, as per your preparations and convenience. After that also you could get a chance to extend the time up to 02 years. So keep trying to complete it as the course is upgraded to PG Diploma in T&D with all the subjects of HR, Training and data analytics and also the curriculum is updated in last 1 year.

If you want to pursue a career in ID, then completing ISTD does not add much value. But, if you plan to work in the LnD domain later, it might help you.
You can go for any advance course from ID Mentors or IGNOU also.
If you already have exposure to LnD, then clearing the ISTD exams won't be much of an issue. If you can take out some time, you might as well finish it.
ISTD has revised their syllabus and the present syllabus is better and more practical.
