Hi Hema
What sort of games are you looking for? The games you play in the training programme need to be very relevant to the topic that is being discussed. Otherwise participants would not carry home the learning. if you let us know the topic of the training programme perhaps we could help out better.

Dear Abhianaya
Thanks a lot for your reply. Can i have the collections of games you are refereing to. It would be very nice if you could do that, as i am planning to have my next training program sometime by end of this month, where i can make use of the games you are refereing to.

Dear Maliha
Yes you are absolutely right! When ever we play a game during our training program, the trainer makes it a point that trainee's carry what he has learned. As we belive that when a learning happens in the form of game it has a greater impact, as human tendencey is to remember things when it has a practical experience.
I am planning to have a training program on communication skills somtime end of this month, So let me have some inputs from your end for this.

Hi Hema this is satish reddy from ICFAI .

I want to clear some words wether you know or not. Try keep these words while doing any thing.

1.One is "Conscious" and second is "Conscience" . These two are core to Organization And any living Entity.

2. "Generating Ideas"

Based on these two Try to impliment oneactivity according two the problem or situation.

I will Give one example

Objective: Making awareness about "Importance of Communication In Organization"

Communication From Top - Bottom Or Bottom- Top.

Activity: Arange seating as row. and say one typical word to first person in that row. the word should not audible to others Except first person.

and pass this word to last meber.

If the lost person say correctly Conclusion is " communication with out distortion" . Nothing will hapen to any body.

If the lost person say incorectly conclusion is "Distortion in communication".

By Playing this game every body come to know "value or importance of communication"

Like this U can Develop Games Based on the Situation.

U just create dummy situation according to the Management Scince and Management stratagies.

But dont forget about Conscious & Conscience . Keep these two words and impliment new game.

In the above example

Consious : Sending message to other person

Conscience: Wehter i send the message correctly or not.

Hi Hema,

Sorry for the late reply. One game that I've used in my communication skills programs is the rope game. Its very useful as an energizer as well. It goes like this:

Materials needed: One rope around 20 feet long depending on the size of the group.

Directions:

Ask the participants to stand roughly in a circle and to close their eyes. its very important that they keep their eyes closed throughout the game, so do take their commitment.

Then quietly enter the circle and put the rope in the centre. spread it around so that its roughly in the shape of the participant circle, not coiled up and not crossed.

Tell the participants that if they bend down and grope a bit they will come across an object (do not tell them its a rope), and that they are to keep a hold of it all througout the game.

Once all the pax are holding on to the rope, ask them to work together and form a square with the rope - meaning that they are to stand in the form of a square holding on to the rope.

If you want to make it bit tougher, ask them to make a hexagon or a polygon etc.

Give them 15 minutes to work on it.

Analysis questions:

Were you able to accomplish the goal? if not what were the barriers to accomplishment?

What sort of communication mishaps occured?

Was there any emergent leadership?

What needed to happen for the goal to be accomplished?

Hope that helped. Best of luck with your program.
