Govt orders have been passed by Ministry of Home affairs and Maharastra govt to pay full wages to workers during the lock down period, where in no work has been done.
Factory owners find it difficult to pay such wages for period wherein no work has been done citing economic difficulties.
Govt order was a welfare measure for the workers who cannot afford to have break in wages and appreciable as a gesture during difficult times.
But practical issues arise for owners who may not be on that kind of profit margin that they can afford to pay for periods of lockdown.
Honble SC will now take a call on this difficult issue. One side it is welfare and other side hard economic reality of margins in running an industry.
