Hi All, We have recently introduced the sandwich leave policy here. Is there a possibility that someone taking 2 days of leaves before or after the weekend (Saturday & Sunday) be actually losing on 4 days of leaves - which includes the weekend.
As per sandwich policy, leaves taken before (2) and after (2) a holiday (1) will be considered as all (5) together.

Dear Surbhi,
Yes, the leave can be availed of by clubbing with preceding Sunday/closed holiday or succeeding Sunday/closed holiday. It is called as prefix and suffix respectively.
Thanks,

Surbhi,
For the employees of "workman" category, it is not possible. Sundays or holidays falling in between cannot be clubbed in their leave. However, the management is free to club those days in case of any employee of managerial/administrative cadre who does not fall under the category of "workman" as the term is defined in section 2(s) of the Industrial Disputes Act 1947.
