Hello Friends,
I need ur help on the following :
1) I need to prepare an Organogram for our company. Can anyone
please give me an idea of what all should be included in an
organogram. Should it look like a matrix or a tree diagram
indicating the hierarchy and reporting relationship?
2) From where can I get the salary limit (the lower and upper range as
per prevailing market standards) for each dept. like excise, stores,
accounts, personnel, HR, production, QC, Maintenance etc. Is there
any such forum or place where I can get such data. There are
several disparities in the existing salary structure in our organisation.
And we would like to rectify the salary structure as per the existing
standards.
Can someone please help me or suggest some avenues from where I can get such data.
Regards,
Vinita

Dear Vinita,
You are correct in case of Organogram, its a usually a tree diagram.
To know the market stadard salary structure there are few ways i can suggest
1) Ask any consultant
2) Compare few companies salary structure
3) If you have job portal access then check there what people are earning on that particular position.
Hope this will help you atleast a bit.
Cheers,

Dear Vinita,
Your organogram would depend upon your organisational structure.
If there are heirarchies and layers it would look like a tree.
Your organogram would look like a Matrix if your company utilizes functional and divisional chains of command simultaneously in the same part of the organization, commonly for one-of-a-kind projects.
The best way to go about getting market data for salary is to commission a bench mark survey for the each of the postions of your company. You may use the services of consulatnats. Alternatively you may ask the consultants to provide you the data from their existing data base.
Hope this helps you.
Cheers!
