Dear Peers,
Can anybody tell me wats the logic behind attrition calculation formula in the attached file. As per me simple calculation for attrition is = ( Left emp/(Ope bal+new joinees)*100). But I found some other formula for the attrition rate calculation in that file.
Tell me which is correct and why?

Closing balance of a particular month= (Opening no. of employees of the month + No. of new joinees during the month)- No. of left employees during the month.

Dear Members,
1. Formula to calculate the monthly Attrition rate = Total no of resigned employee/(Opening Balance+New Joinees)*100
You can also used without multiplying by "100" by using in %.
2. Opening balance is called as total no. of active employees Head count at beginning of 1st day of an month.
3. Closing Balance is called as Total No. of active employees head count by End of month on on closure date or last date or month.
4. Also find the attached CTC structure may be helpful for you to calculate the Monthly as well as Annual CTC.

Dear All
I believe following formula is correct to calculate attrition.
No. of employee left / ((Opening balance + closing Balance)/2) *100
You have to find out average no. of employee during month.
for better clarity i have attached attrition register and calculator
