If an employee is covered under ESIC, then who will have to pay the maternity benefit of the employee.Will the esic borad cover the salary during maternity leave,or the employer have to pay

If the employee had contributed to ESI for a minimum of 70 days in the two consecutive contribution periods then the ESI Corporation will pay the maternity benefits in respect of that employee. The employer has to just mark the leave days as ESI leave and no payment has to be processed for that days by the employer.
