Dear Sir, Our's is a group of five companies but the attrition rate is very high. Can you suggest a method whereby the same can be reduced and some methods which can encourage the employees such as indicating the career path in the organization, incentive or proper salary structure to resolve the above problem?
All five units are manufacturing units in the steel sector and textiles.
Thanking you,

You can implement the below Methods in order to overcome Attrition.
1) Monitor Unions and ensure who is playing the negative part.
2) Address employee queries in detail and see what exactly they are looking forwards too.
3) Incentivise them on basis of every task, Quarterly bonus or Give Holiday packages to their Dependents and Family.
4) In replace to a Higher salary, put up an Education fund to fund their childrends education.

The reason for attrition vary and it is impossible for members of this forum to guess the reason for it in your organisation.
Therefore, to start with, you must identify and tell us why people are leaving
Have you conducted exit interviews to find out what the problem is?
For example, if they are leaving because your wages are lower than industry, then you already know what you need to do

First of all, you need to prepare a Fact datasheet for leaving employees and try to find the reasons for their separation and analyse them and put up a proposal to management. If majority of leaving employees say the reason as inadequate salaries & perks, you can put up suggestion to management for a pay hike. There can be other reasons such as lack of promotions, lack of growth opportunities, not getting job freedom, absence of leaves/holidays, micromanagement by superiors/HOD. lack of personal development, not getting adequate rest time etc.
If you sincerely conduct Exit interrview of leaving employees and collect data and analyse them properly, you can reduce attrition rate to a great extent.
