Hello All,
I am working with an organization from last 2 years as an HR & Account executive. But now after 2 years my boss asked me to report him everyday in a mail that what i did in whole day.It was really a hurt feel cause i use to work with full dedication every time.and i spent 2 years with same feeling.Well i followed his instruction. Now when he read my each day task list for one week and came to know that i m doing so much work so he came to me and said that don't send me daily report but just start sending me weekly report that what you achieved in a week same like developer or team leads use to send.
Now i am very frustrated. As all you out there know that our tasks are based on report and followup so how i can show him weekly that what i achieved.Cause as per my profile and work i use to update the reports so should i write i updated the details of an employee so i achieved this task.
I am so upset and frustrated. What should i do..
looking for comments.
Thanks
Nikita

Dear Nikita,
Your frustration is because of your different perception. It is also because of the state of inertia that your mind had enjoyed hitherto. However, all that your management has done it to do something that other team members also do. May they be working in some different section. Please show it to him what kind of follow-up have you done, how many times you have done etc.
Lastly, please remember boss is always right. Remember this rule as long as you work in India!

Dear Ms. Nikita
Whatever Mr. Dinesh has suggested can also be considered because your boss may be trying to evaluate your capabilities, stress/patience levels...
At this juncture you need to perform and prove yourself rather reacting. Never allow NEGATIVE THOUGHTS TO OCCUPY YOUR MIND because this will only make you think negative and react without applying LOGIC.
Every one has got skills, talents, preference, abilities etc...its time to evaluate "what you are capable of"
NEVER LET YOURSELF DOWN.........PLEASE FOLLOW SYSTEMATIC PROCEDURES AT WORK PLACE ...THIS WILL HELP YOU COMPLETE YOUR JOB WITH EASE...
Be an OBSERVER and learn to develop PATIENCE.....that will define "who you are"
With profound regards

Dear friends

Thanks for the wonderful advice and interpreting the situation correctly.

In fact it is a very 'touching' piece... as evident in the following quote :

Now when he read my each day task list for one week and came to know that i m doing so much work so he came to me and said that don't send me daily report but just start sending me weekly report that what you achieved in a week same like developer or team leads use to send.

However, I am really shocked and surprised at the reaction and response of riddhi.verma.

Instead of feeling happy that she has such an appreciative and kind boss (who of course, it seems was initially apprehensive about her capabilities and performance); she is complaining !!

Dear riddhi.verma, I too would suggest that you do not attribute any "INTENTION" behind your boss's actions; rather realized that he is now convinced of your performance and potential; and hence he is giving you the liberty to give him JUST A WEEKLY REPORT, rather than a daily report.

It shows his TRUST in you.

Kindly do not misunderstand such gestures.

Warm regards.

And Raj one more thing.
You know he came to me cause he knows that how much honest and dedicated i am towards his company. And he knew it that if he will ask me to send the report i will feel bad. That's why he did like that.....
Each day when i was writing the report i was loosing my dedication and then came to cite hr for right suggestion. :)

Hello Riddhi
I think you have to see other side of the coin. He is suppose to be happy with ur working and he dont want report daily. He will be satisfied by weekly report. So go ahead. I wish u best luck.

Dear Ms. Riddhi
Always look for good in everything and you will follow good. Also you will end up with good things.

Perhaps by now you have understood who was motivating you, in your workplace. The problems with youngsters is that, "WE REACT IMMEDIATELY RATHER GIVING A THOUGHT". Henceforth don't repeat the same in your life again.

EMOTIONS do play a vital role in our life and one has to be EMOTIONAL to an extent only. If you are not EMOTIONAL(to an extent) then you can't find good in everything..........."DON'T LET EMOTIONS TO PLAY WITH YOUR LIFE"

Always think that YOU ARE SMART....when you start believing that "you are SMART", "you will become wise". There is a reason as why i had suggest you the best part of my training programs which had yield terrific results and they(all those who implemented my suggestions) made me a BEHAVIOUR SPECIALIST & POSITIVE MOTIVATOR....but i didn't become on my own.....

I will look forward your post the day you felt and realized that you are WISE......You have to narrate the whole process.....

Good Luck...

With profound regards
