Dear Sir,

Bosses! Are you listening?

With a firm belief that HR function will continue to remain in center inspite of having technology taking over certain processes, New Gen HR professionals have sparkle in their eyes for the future and are bubbly to do more beyond HR in their career.

Early and mid-career young HR professionals being tech savvy are anxious to embarrass the digitalization of people process and are comfortable to have a ride over them. They know that they have to do multi- tasking and deliver their best that adds value to the function and business.

These are some conclusions derived on the basis of a quick opinion survey conducted by Business Manager telephonically on around 500 new Gen HR professionals having one year to ten years of working experience in NCR and other parts of country. The young HR have many expectations from the organisations and bosses. They expect a transparent and honest communication, regular feedback, opportunity to learn and upskill themselves, a culture of ethics, flexible working with work life balance and a mentor and coach on the chair of boss.

Such young HR professionals have many dreams in their eyes , want to work on them tirelessly to see them as reality. Some are not to work only for the organization but expand it to community level to improve the lives of people, bring cheers on the faces of employees, create a culture of diversity and inclusion and making employees feel happy, understanding their needs and upskilling them to make a clear career path for them, using technology for the betterment of employees at large and developing line managers to create a support system for HR.

New Gen HR professionals dislike hypocrisy, suffocating environment, high headed bosses, negative politics, bullying and back biting in the organisations. They want to be heard honestly and get an opportunity to contribute in the growth of business.

Beyond this, New Gen HR professionals also need to be adaptive to the fast-changing business environment, be ethical, know the basics of HR function, apply knowledge to practical situations and gaining expertise on labour matters. They have to emerge as domain experts in totality. Be the people champion and custodian of business. Your insights in to understanding business intricacies will help creating value to the business through people competencies.

This edition is an attempt to understand what New Gen HR professionals think about the profession, what are their priorities, how they would like to see the organization and their ultimate goal. It is interesting to know all about that and Bosses must listen to what their future CHROs have in mind and how they want to move on.

If you like it let us know. If not, well, let us know that too.

Happy Reading!
