Dear Neha,

The Flexible Working Hours Policy should be designed in such a way that it not only offers flexibility to the individual employee but also to the company. If the individual's hours are not in line with those dependent upon them, the work of the organization can come to a standstill.

Therefore, even when offering flexible working hours, certain rules need to be established, taking into consideration the internal clients (other departments). For example, an accounts person primarily dealing with banks cannot decide to work in the evening when banks are closed, as this would result in no real output from that individual.

It is essential to have rules in place even when being flexible.
