Dear Chandrashekhar,

If your company is more than 20 years old then some systems and processes must be in place. Obviously, the company did not operate in a vacuum. Therefore, the pertinent recommendation is to write here what systems are in place and what addition you would like to do?

The second question is are you talking only about HR processes or there is a process deficit across the departments? If yes, then is management ready to spend funds so as to bring the processes at par with a professional company? A lot depends on the willpower of the management!

Therefore, please clarify your position in the company, and what is your empowerment. I say so because management with a progressive mindset does not wait for 20 years to bring systems. Epiphany could have struck them earlier also!

Thanks,

Dear Chandrashekhar,
All the manufaturing company have their HR & HR Rules or otherwise it is difficult to manage the show. As per the post your company is existing over 20 years. Don't you think it as miracle a company has been running since last 20 more years and is existing is also going for expanssion.
In my perception it is wise go with the track which was laid 20 years back. In what sence you felt the necessity of adopting new systems and processes. Dear fried there was not much change or anything new has come in this sphere of HR other than some feudal kind of changes.
The change in system or adoption of new policy in place of old, is nothing kind of changing dress. Any change is having its own reprocation or setbacks. It has mostly observed negetive impacts at the begining.
Only one who is acquinted with your working and system or knowledge or observing for last 20 years by any professional only can suggest good. It is not wise to suggest anything farsighting.
It would be good enough if you can suplement where you want changes & why in a tabular form so that members from the forum can guide and in the subject Mr Divekar has given lot more inputs. Hope you need to have brain storming on subject.

Hi Chandrashekar sir

there must be some system in place that is used for the 20 years this company is in existence. Analyze each of them as to its utility and what is it that can be bettered as you and the management sees it.

If you are new to the system then you must speak to all those who handled the system to give you a heads-up on what processes are in place

Also it may be ideal to have an external consultant hired to support this as it can be a cumbersome task if you are working in a timebound manner handling your day to day tasks.

In case you have deputies at your disposal then you do not need an external consultant. You can then use your time judiciously in developing the new systems

hope these suggestion help
