Dear Members, An entity crossed 10 employees on 15th Feb 2021. It was registered with ESI on 22nd March 2021.
While entering the details of employees, we need to enter the date of appointment. The employee's DOJ to the Company was in 2020, however, there was no liability of registering with ESI as of that date. Therefore, is it better to show the date of appointment as 15th Feb 2021 - which is the date on which the company crossed 10 employees threshold. Or is it better to show the date of registration with ESI 22nd March 2021? Or should I show the actual DOJ in the year 2020. Please advise.

Please read the help files on the portal. In fact, ESIC has issued vidoe recordings / youtube videos explaining how it is to be used.
I think you are allowed to pay the date of applicability of the act to the company as the date of joining.
