Dear Meena,
Is that an assignment question or do you want to work from home? In either case without enough information about the work situation, it's not easy to give precise information. I have looked at your various posts and I am confused about why you have raised this question.
As a lecturer, I had impressed upon my boss that I need not be present at the university when I had no classes teach. I had told him that in this age of computerization and internet facility, I could answer questions even on weekends, if he allowed me to work from home. However, if he insisted that I be present 8X5 every week, I would not offer remote guidance facility. He accepted my proposal.

Dear Meena,
If I were in your position, I would not have initiated the move without them contacting me officially. How do you know that the intermediary was not really representing them but making you feel good?
I had been without a job after quitting one and I know that not having a job can be frustrating. "All good things come to those that wait.@, as the saying goes.

Firstly what kind of question is this? Secondly the question looks like incomplete statement.
Why would you please your boss and for what? Do we work in office to impress our bosses and seniors or actually do we work in office to gain knowledge experience and to grow our career.
If someone thinks by doing no work and simple impress the boss with various ways is a pure unethical and unprofessional approach. I really don't appreciate with people who will sit in bosses cabin for hours doing nothing but chit chat so that he will get the raise or special attention from his boss and seniors and some bosses inturns feels the same.

Dear MAB, I think Meena wanted to know how to convince a boss that she should be allowed to work from home, rather than be present at work for the whole time.

Dear nashbramhall,
Well understood, even in this scenario whereby Meena has got an offer from his old company to join for what i see from the second post. A strong justification is required where you have to convince the organisation or management that why do you look at work from home.
Again the question is if the organisation is using technology than will the organisation allow them to connect the office remotely upto what level they are allowing their employees to connect to the network etc...
but primary a strong justification which enables someone to work from home scenario.
