Hi,
I have taken a break from my career as a software profession for about 4 years due u personal reasons. Meanwhile I had done a course in software testing. I would now like to restart my career back in software testing. Can anyone suggest me if it would be possible for me to restart my career again

Hey Swetha, why you are taking too much time to restart you career dear...well how much experience you have and if you are scared to give a new start to your career thn i wud say until you will apply for the position how can you get the actual situation and what exactly you need to resolve your problem. I mean you need to apply for the jobs first and face the interview. while interview when recruiters will ask you the reason for your this break, you just need to tell them the exact reason honestly and im sure they will apreciate this. Also you need practice.
As you said that you were still working on to enhance your professional skill by learning new course/software testing and im sure this will certainly have had improved your skills...and now in your current situation you want confidence and determiniation alongwith faith on yourself which is really important for you...
And one more thing you dont need to worry about anything, just make a new CV and apply for the jobs..also you can if possible, join a institute for new and advance course according to the market demand again which will give you more chances to start a new inning and wanna let you know that institutes are also giving placements to their students...

Hello Swetha,
In a way, Anil Kr Arora is right.
But since you belong to the software community, there could be a few things that you need to ponder.
1] What was your skill BEFORE you took the break?
2] Any reason why you did the Testing course, when the right thing to do would possibly be a course in whatever your original skill was--to enhance your knowledge-base & keep in touch technically?
3] If the reasons were ACTUAL personal reasons, it may not matter, but if they were medical, then you may need to show the evidences that you are OK now. Even for 'personal' reasons, you may need to explain at some places--not all would take @ face-value a LONG gap of 4 yrs without inquiring the reasons.
And like Anil Kr Arora said: unless you put your feet into water, how will you know the depth?
All the Best.
