Hi friends,
This is Rishi. First of all, thank you all for being so helpful in solving problems and clarifying concerns of those in trouble/dilemma.
I solicit your expertise to solve a critical problem...which is looming big day by day....
I was involved in our family business [a small publishing firm] for nearly 5 years and then moved on to corporates and worked for another 5 years. I have a total of 10 years of experience.
I am now in the middle of interview processes of a few companies. As we all know, no matter what experience all companies need experience certificate to validate that. I have relieving letters, appointment letters, pay slips and IT returns for the two corporates I worked for.
So, here I have no clues how does a experience certificate of family business look like or what format should be followed. Please provide me a format for experience certificate with family business. By the way - I worked for my uncle [relative]. He is the proprietor of that business.
Please advise...
Thank you and Best Regards,

Dear TS sir,
You are right sir. I did. However, if you observed my previous posting was about consideration of this experience in corporate world [especially big companies]. In that post, if you observe, I mentioned that I already have the experience letter from my uncle. However, that was given by him and he just gave it according to his wish, in terms of format. Now, I want to know if there is any standard format and any official format for experience letters in these cases...My question is different here. Here, I am not asking about acceptability of my experience. I am asking about format of experience certificate. Hence, I posted it here in the formats category.
Please advise,,,
Thank you,
Rishi

Hi Bhargavi,
As I said, you all have clarified my major issue. However, this question is about the document for the same. If I could go ahead with whatever is issued by the proprietor, I don't mind. Please advise on the same.
Thanks,
Rishi.

Dear Rishi,
You can go ahead with whatever proprietor has given you... There is no standard formats as such for experience letters..
However, organisations require a proof that you've worked before.. As you said it is your own uncle's organisation, you need not worry.. your employer will not be very strict on it..as you have something already in your hand to show.. In case, they need something else other than that.. you can collect it from your uncle later accordingly..
Hope, this helped you..

Hi Bhargavi,
Thank you for your advice. I will go ahead with the experience certificate in hand. There won't be a mention of salary details and other stuff as such, while many such details are provided in the corporate world. This sparked a doubt in my mind.
Once again, the reason I posted this question is...little bloopers we commit out of ignorance cost us a lot later...Hence, I needed some expertise to guide me in this matter.
Cheers,
Rishi...

Dear Rishi,
I'm no expert compared to others in this forum... Just shared what I knew..
And you've misunderstood the concept of experience certificate... this certificate will mention only the service period of an employee and salary particulars will not be mentioned even in corporate world...
You got to show your pay slips of previous months or you must show a salary certificate to the employers to show your salary details..
Donot get confused with both of them..

Dear Bhargavi,
I agree with you. There will be and should be separate pay slips/salary certificates as salary proof. I do all relevant docs for corporate experience. However, in case of my first experience, I had this query because there is nothing like salary slips. I was helpless but to ask for clarification.
Thank you.
