Dear Subramanian,
This is for your information that Minimum Wages Act is a Central Act & it is not got amended by the States at regular intervals. It seems that you are talking about the minimum rates of wages. Shops & Establishment Act is a State Act. This Act also nothing to do with coverage of other labour laws.
Submitted only for sake of information.

Hi There,
Good to see your reply. If I am not wrong, Shops and Establishment act of a particular state does cover some provisions related to labour. Eg:- Shops and Establishment act -1954 for Delhi covers rules/provisions related to Leave, Minimum rates of wages, working hours etc.

Please read about industrial dispute act and contract labour regulation and abolition act. These are very useful social legislation. A practitioner in HR field should know about these.
