The Central Government has released a draft 'Labour Code on Wages' for comments. This law proposes to amalgamate into a single Act, the following existing labour legislations, namely,
i. The Minimum Wages Act, 1948
ii. The Payment of Wages Act, 1936
iii. The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965
iv. The Equal Remuneration Act, 1976
A copy of the draft ‘Labour Code on Wages’ is attached for discussion.
