HR deals with people.
HR practises remain more or less the same, across industries.
Whether you have auto factory or steel factory PF rules are same,ESIC rules are same for workers.
Knowledge of process by HR makes him more knowledgeable about the whole environment of work, beyond that HR practises cannot be markedly different.

Thank you @ Nath Rao for your valuable reply . As you said Process knowledge of HR , wherever he works makes him Good & Knowledgeable person at work environment . That means if a HR person who changed /moved to one industry to another one, he need to learn and adopt the work process where he has been appointed newly. (industry) His capability and adaptability to the present system will makes him better .
That is what i understood from your answer is it correct? And please advise what should be answered if this question asked in an interview ?(Change of industry)

Thank you.

change is an adaptation that we are doing since millions of years ago.. change is a small revolution that need to be brought to have a better upgradation. if an employee changing an industry, its doesnt mean he is not capable of doing any job.. its just that he learned everything possible and now he want to upgrade his knowledge to the next level, where he is mentally and physically ready to face any challange that comes in his way. so changing any industry is a positive point as its a process of developing a career which fights with every situation, just to become perfect. updating is necessary to this fast running world.

Dear HR friend,
First of all you should state that you are not looking for change in the Industry but for better career opportunity to work as an HR professional in any industry where you are allowed freedom and authority to apply your knowledge at a level it deserves.
The basic elements of HR job remain the same in any industry ie Recruitment, Compensation management, performance management, employee relations and developing sound HR policies etc.
The role of HR whether in Automobile, IT, Chemical , Engineering or service provides different challenges and that is why familiarity with those challenges is what creates industry bias in the minds of recruiters in selecting HR person. But any HR professional having sound knowledge and well rounded experience can add value to the function in any Industry.
