I would like to inform you that Attendance Register is Compulsory by Law but you can request to Commissioner for allow us to maintain Electronic Attendance Register and if they give you that permission for the same then you can maintain Electronic Attendance Register.

To maintain attendece register is a statutory requirement.To have electronic attendence register you will have to take the permission of the State Labour Commissioner / Chief Inspector of Factories.

Attendance register is a muster roll and it is mandatory
as per factories act 1948.It is called as Form.22.
You may or may not refer it while preparing salary
sheet but as a mandatory register you are required to
maintian it.
If Factory inspector is visiting he will first see the same
register.:-D

I sign my attendance register when I am in office. I mostly travel and sign it later when i come back to office. Is there any problem? What implication will it have to inspection? Does this deviation/exception is allowed under Bombay Shops and Establishment law? If yes please quote relevant section. Its very important, I have had couple of argument with my gorrulent HR Manager.
