PREAMBLE
Indian Economy has emerged as the 2nd fastest growing
economy in the world with 8.5% to 10% GDP growth
during the last five years. This trend is going to be
still better with the economy likely to cross 10%
mark. Growth in core sectors, service industries, IT,
infrastructure, retail, telecom, and education is
phenomenal. However, we need to catch up with matching
growth in productivity in all these sectors.
Biggest opportunity as well as challenge to the
industrial sector in the country is, as how to
optimize the potential of its vast work force.
Thus, HR has a unique role to play on a much bigger
scale. There are growing number of researches and
developments in HR field both in terms of systems and
in terms of practices. However, there is no
well-documented synthesization of the same to benefit
the practitioners.
Core objective of the Symposium is to pool together
all new developments in HR systems and practices;
discuss and synthesize the HR practices for further
refinement and implementation.
