Hi,

The leave policy will include the following types of leave:

- Casual Leave: 10 days in a year
- Privilege Leave: 21 days in a year
- Sick Leave: 14 days

The leave calculating year will be the calendar year. Casual leave entitlement starts from day 1 of joining and is calculated on a pro-rata basis. Sick leave and Privilege leave eligibility is post-confirmation. Privilege leave is recalculated on a pro-rata basis. It can be accumulated up to a maximum of 60 days, after which it lapses. Employees can encash any leftover Privilege leave at the time of leaving the company. Casual leave cannot be taken for more than 3 days at a stretch. Privilege leave taken should be a minimum of 7 days at a stretch. Sick leave taken for more than 3 days must be supported by a medical certificate.

Maternity leave is as per the Maternity Benefit Act.

In addition to the mandatory leave mentioned above, you can also include the following types of leave in your leave policy:

- Bereavement Leave: 7 days
- Paternity Leave: 5 days (for up to 2 children). The leave counts from the day of childbirth.

Employees are required to maintain a leave card, which must be filled out before going on leave. In case of emergency leave, employees can fill out the leave card after resuming duty.

Attendance policy:

Punctuality of each employee must be monitored. Three consecutive late marks will result in a one-day salary deduction. Frequent late marks may lead to disciplinary action against the employee. Official Duty (OD) forms need to be submitted on the 29th of every month, duly signed by the authorized person, if the salary processing date is the 30th of every month.

I don't quite understand why people come to this website to ask for full policies. Firstly, how is one ever going to learn how to write and develop a policy that is tailored for their own workplace, one that addresses the issues in their environment if they are just taking from others? The skill of policy writing and development isn't learned from cutting and pasting from something; it is from actually doing, getting it wrong, and correcting it.

Secondly, if my HR representative ever shared our policy that we developed, I would terminate their employment immediately with no notice as a breach of their contract. For those that openly share their company policies on here, check your contract conditions and company policies carefully; you could actually be in breach.

I do not think sharing of information is incorrect; I support sharing of knowledge wholeheartedly. However, there is a significant difference between sharing knowledge and blatantly disclosing private company information. Learn from each other but do so without compromising your career.

My Dear Mr. Sunilkmani,

Who told you that this is the cut-and-paste era? We have created our way of doing things in a shortcut manner. It is not related to the era.

First, an individual has to make an attempt to define or frame a policy or procedure. Then the same can be posted on this Cite HR or shared with senior members to finalize the same. Only then can a person learn.

What is the use of one's knowledge and education gained if individual efforts are not put forth and only simply depending on the cut-and-paste method?

Kindly don't support and encourage such types of things, buddy.

Regards,
Narendra

Hello Rimpy ji,

Thanks for the leave policy. I needed this as I am setting up the HR dept in our company, and I belong to the accounts dept. I want to collect HR policies from different companies so that a comprehensive leave policy may be created for our company. Some people on this site do not want to share information, which I think is not right. HR policies are just another form of labor laws regarding employee schemes, and I do not think sharing legal information is a crime. Even companies like Infosys share their employee policy with the public.

Thanks once again.

Ajit
