Hello,
I would require your kind assistance for the query below. I provided my previous salary account number during my exit formalities in my former company. Now, after checking and confirming with the bank, I found that it is no longer a salary account, as it has been showing a negative balance.
My question is: Can I send an email to my ex-company's HR providing them with my current account information, or do I need to request a cheque from them instead?
Please advise. Your help is highly appreciated.
Regards,

Dear HR Department,
Of course, your query is not clear. I am presuming that you have given a salary account for PF withdrawal, which is not operative now, and you want to change the account number for PF withdrawal. In this case, you have to request the HR Department to make a correction in your withdrawal form and send them a photocopy of the bank statement or passbook.

Dear Mala,
First of all, I would like to address your query. Firstly, you should conduct your own search before making a request. Many times, such topics are discussed on the citehr platform. Nevertheless, I am attaching the information I found here. I hope it will be helpful.

Dear Aveek Roy,
I would like to clarify your issues as follows:
Nowadays, some of the banks are closing the Savings bank account (Salary A/c) which is inoperative for 1 or maximum 2 months. Hence, please check with your ex-employer whether they have submitted your PF claim forms 19 and 10 C to the concerned RPFC or not. If not, inform them and change your bank account duly signed by you for correction in the application form, or you can submit a fresh application form. I suggest submitting the fresh form if the old form has not been submitted to the PF office.
If they have already submitted the application to the PF office, then make one letter giving the details and submit it to them along with your ex-employer letter to the department before they process your application.
For Gratuity, provide your new bank account number.
