Hi,

5S can mean different things for different organizations and processes. We applied 5S to the Knowledge portal we have in our company. In this context, 5S meant that we maintain the content on the portal in a systematic way and ensure that we adhere to the Sort-Straighten-Shine-Standardize and Sustain aspects of the 5S standard on a regular monthly basis.

Nupurn - you are right. The one you are referring to is also called e5S. Similarly, e5S refers to systematizing your files and structuring your index on a PC so that manual dependence is reduced and retrieval becomes fast. :)

I wonder if in India, we name boys as "Chitra" because a few are addressing me as "Mr."? HA HA HA HA HA

I worked in an American company earlier, and there, a person wrongly addressed would become very furious. I am not at all angry but request those few friends to address a person properly. PLEASE.
