Yes, as per the PF Act, you can fix an employee's maximum basic salary at Rs. 6500. This is known as the ceiling limit. However, it is at the respective company's discretion to follow the ceiling limit or not. Regardless, 12% of the basic salary is fixed. This is a central Act and is applicable in all states except J&K and Union Territories.
