KRAs and KPAs are the same thing; the only difference is like this: In some cases, even if the employee does his best to achieve his KRA successfully, he may fail because of certain unavoidable circumstances beyond his control. If we go by KRA, he will not achieve results. However, if we go by KPA, he has performed. He should not be made to lose because of certain problems beyond his control.
Take an example of a salesman in the seeds industry. If the region is flooded, he will not be able to reach targets of selling seeds. But, this does not mean that he will be considered a poor performer. Because of this, the inclination is shifting from KRAs to KPAs.

1. Define what’s driving the need for a performance management solution. Like

2. Determine your strategy for moving forward. For example, when Boeing realized
that it was losing ground to chief rival Airbus, the Chicago-based company looked at

the same way that Airbus did. Boeing’s self-examination led to its strategy.

3. Align your business units with your strategy. In banking, mergers and acquisitions

I work for a leading pharma company as a Senior Executive in hospitality services. I am responsible for the smooth functioning of the guesthouse and canteen services. The guest house has 33 rooms and 87 beds. Additionally, the guest house provides food production and services to at least 6 different locations other than its regular operations.

Primarily, the customer responses (in this case, the people availing this facility) will have to provide a rating for the services rendered. Anyways, there are some areas that can be looked at:
- Number of complaints lodged
- Number of repetitive complaints lodged
- Average time to complaint resolution
- Manpower availability/resource management
- Number of accolades/"excellent service" notes received (I guess there is a customer complaint/satisfaction note available - if not, make it available)
- Cost of operations - actual vs. budget
These are the parameters you can use for Guest House management:

Prime Clients Rate - is there growth in the clients who contribute to 70% or more of your revenues? I will manage RF site acceptance, RF fault resolution, and assist in resolving Microwave RF faults. I will measure this by the number of RF tasks completed within the committed period.
