You have to give him a service letter and a relieving letter. If you want to really tarnish his image, you can mention that 'Due to so and so reasons, you are terminated on disciplinary grounds and relieved from service w.e.f...'. Generally, no one does it intentionally. It is better to give him a regular letter. Else, it may affect his career.
