If a candle has no wick, you cannot bring it to flame no matter how hard you try. If a person does not have a goal, they cannot be motivated no matter what you try. Just as the candle needs a wick first, very often the person needs to be given knowledge of what they can achieve initially.
In our function, we often try to light candles that have no wick, only to fail and wonder why people lack motivation or why our skills are poor.

I absolutely loved this quote – it says it all. Motivation can come in all shapes and sizes, from the little street urchins to the corporate bigwigs; there is a story of life, courage, and grit. My source of inspiration lately has been a product as unlikely as an iPod. Well, I've been loading it with my favorite video training materials and viewing them whenever I am waiting for my client in their office lobby. The fun is in never having a moment of self-pity and doubt.
