Good one!!!
But why should we give birthday cards at all? Does it really serve any purpose? I do not discourage anyone here. I also tried all these when I started my career, but soon I realized birthday cards have no impact at all. A birthday gift will hold some value; a mere card is okay during the first year. Afterwards, no one bothers.
This is not to discourage you, but to share my experience.

Hi,
We wish our employees a happy birthday by displaying their names on the LCD screen near the reception. The screen is also used to congratulate all our employees who have completed more than 4 years of service. Birthday gifts and cards are also part of the celebration. This is just to share with all of you.
Thanks,
Faiz Khan

Dear Zahida,
This is a nice idea for wishing Happy Birthday. In our company, we celebrate the birthday of the employee by having the birthday person recognized by our Unit Head in front of all the regular employees. Then, we distribute sweets to all the employees on behalf of the birthday person and conclude the celebration with some jokes delivered by a few employees. This initiative really gives the employee a reason to be present in the company, especially on their birthday.
Good idea! :icon1: Keep going.

It's good that you have designed a birthday card, but sending the same card to all the employees again and again would lose the charm of the card. The card should be made in such a way that every time you send a card, it has a new look and aesthetics so that it is always appealing and has a new impact on all those who receive it.

Dear Friends,
I have never been a proper HR professional officially, but throughout my career, I have been performing HR duties.
Let me share an experience: wishing on special days really makes a lot of difference.
In my last company, I introduced a system of wishing employees not by buying a card but by sending a plain image of flowers, cake, balloons, and a verse for birthday wishes. We would take a printout on plain paper (not necessarily a color printout) and get it signed by all those who wanted to wish the person. Initially, we started by individuals contributing for the cake, later the company started sponsoring it. During the noon tea time, a small gathering would take place, the cake would be cut, and the birthday wish signed by all would be given. Believe me, it worked wonders, and even today, after 5-6 years, you will find all employees preserving their birthday wish paper in their files.
Taking a step further, with the management's help, we introduced sending a small flower bouquet worth just Rs 50-60/- to employees on their birthdays and anniversaries. The flowers would reach them early in the morning, around 6 am. I am sure that such practices really boost employee morale.
The most important thing is that this applies to all employees on the payroll, starting from the pantry staff, security guards, cleaners, to the Managing Director.
Even after 1.5 years of my departure from that organization, all the former employees are more than 100% sure that the first call on their mobile or the first email in their inbox on their special days will be from me. This feeling itself brings me immense happiness. This is a tried and tested formula. Give it a shot. It is truly wonderful and very satisfying.
I am attaching a sample of the type of email that I send to friends wishing them.
Best Regards,
Bharathi

Dear Friends,
I acknowledge with my friend that mere birthday cards do not make much of a difference. Sometimes, employees feel that they are receiving something insignificant. I believe a good lunch coupon for the employee's family at a nice restaurant, based on the individual's experience in the organization, would be a more valued gift for a birthday.
Thanks,
George

Hi,
I have attached the card that I use to send my employees on their birthdays. At the end of the month, we will celebrate everyone's birthday together with a cake cutting. During that time, I send an invitation to all. I have even attached a copy of that.
Thank you.

Very nice thoughts. In our company, I send birthday cards to them, and in the afternoon, we celebrate it by cutting the cake. But this is a very nice idea to send a bouquet to employees on their birthday.

Dear Zahida,
It is a nice attempt from your side to make the employee feel special on his/her birthday. I am sure you can add a couple of other things to make the occasion more special. Here are some suggestions:
1. Put a copy of the card on the NOTICE BOARD.
2. If you have a cafeteria, put up a banner wishing the person.
3. Have monthly birthday celebrations in case there is a budget constraint.
4. Invite the spouses of the employees whose birthday is being celebrated.
5. Along with the card, give a flower/bunch of flowers, etc. This makes them feel special.
6. Have the Head of the firm/Head of the department send a mail to employees wishing them on their day.
7. Send regular mailers to the team regarding the upcoming birthdays of the month.
These initiatives will make the employee feel that he/she is taken care of by the company.
Regards,
Arun

Certainly! Here is the revised text with corrected spelling, grammar, and proper paragraph formatting:
"Really very nice. In addition, I wanted to share what we are doing in our company. We have all our employees' birthday list, and on those days, we bring cake. We are also in the practice of giving cards, which has brought us a very good response. :-P :-P"

Good one.
Along with the card, you can decorate the employee's cubicle with some flowers or balloons, or keep some chocolates, which would make them feel special for that day.

Hi,
Yes, it spreads a warm feeling for the employee that his or her birthday is remembered. In my case, we have many branch offices and franchisees spread across different states. This really creates a bond as all the employees forward the card to one another, and everyone wishes the person on his or her special day.

Hi,
Thank you for your inquiry. I can definitely assist you with creating a weekly report format to be submitted to your boss. As a secretary responsible for HR, admin, salary, payroll, petty cash, and all office-related matters, it's crucial to have a structured and comprehensive report in place.
For your weekly report, I recommend including sections such as:
1. Overview of tasks completed during the week
2. Upcoming priorities and deadlines
3. Issues or challenges faced and how they were resolved
4. Financial summaries (such as petty cash expenditures)
5. HR updates (new hires, terminations, training sessions)
6. Admin updates (office supplies inventory, maintenance issues)
7. Payroll status and any discrepancies
8. Any other relevant information or updates
Feel free to reach out if you need further guidance or specific templates for each section. Providing a clear and detailed report will not only keep your boss informed but also showcase your efficiency and organizational skills.

Nice card, dear, but I'm still trying to understand if these cards really help us in the long run. I have worked in a BPO earlier, and no one ever bothered to take that card with them. It was always disposed of within a few minutes of giving them.
