Hi,
It's going to be close to one year since I left my previous organization. In Sept '07, I sent my PF withdrawal forms to the HR there to arrange the withdrawal of the same. When I did not receive my amount even after three months, I contacted them once again, and they informed me that the forms had been submitted, and I would receive the amount soon. In February '08, I contacted them again, and they requested me to wait for one more month. However, till now, I have not received the amount. When I contacted them today, they informed me straightforwardly that I need to contact the PF office on my own. My problem is that I stay in Delhi, and the PF office is in Mumbai.
Now, my query is: can I hold my previous employer responsible for helping me withdraw the PF balance? If yes, to what extent? They are not providing me with the acknowledgment copy of the submission of the PF forms at the PF office.
I look forward to your suggestions on my problems.
Thanks

Hey hi Go and ask your employer for PF withdwl achwgment number. If u got the number means ur form is under process. And after that meet PF office person and ask ur status.

Dear Himanshu,
According to me, it's best that you at least collect the phone number of the Mumbai PF office and call them to check whether your application is submitted or not. If not, it's simple that your ex-employer has not done the job for you. If your application is already with them, then you can check what the exact problem is.
Hope this will help you to get your problem solved. All the best, and hope you will get your amount sooner rather than later.
