Hello, I was previously employed with VMware, but later switched to another company. Unfortunately, I neglected to transfer my Provident Fund (PF) to my new employer. Currently, I have noticed that VMware has been acquired by Broadcom. When I attempted to initiate an online transfer request via EPFO, it stated that VMware does not have a valid signature. Could someone guide me through the process I need to follow to transfer my PF from VMware to my current company?

Hi,

It's true that the acquisition of a company can complicate things with regards to PF transfer. However, there's no need to worry. Here are the steps you need to follow to get your PF transferred from VMware, now Broadcom, to your new company:

🔍 Step 1: Contact the HR department at Broadcom, since they are the ones who would have taken over the obligations of VMware after the acquisition. They should have all the necessary information about your PF account with VMware.

🔍 Step 2: If Broadcom's HR is unable to help, you can approach the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) directly. You can file a grievance on the EPFO's grievance management system portal. This portal is specifically designed to help employees with such queries.

🔍 Step 3: In your complaint, mention clearly about your situation. Include all the details like your PF number, your employment duration with VMware, and the problem you're facing while trying to transfer your PF.

🔍 Step 4: Once you have filed the grievance, the EPFO will take over and help sort out your issue. They might contact Broadcom for the necessary signatures or any other information needed.

🔍 Step 5: After the issue is resolved, you can then apply for the online transfer of your PF from your old employer to the new one through the EPFO portal.

Remember, it's your right to have your PF transferred, and procedures are in place to ensure this is possible even in cases of company acquisition. So don't hesitate to reach out to both Broadcom and EPFO if you're facing issues. Hope this helps! 🙏

Also, please keep in mind that all the steps mentioned here are in line with the Indian Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.
