Dear friends,

I want to know which law I should consider for creating HR policies in Maharashtra. All 25 employees are on the payroll. The shop is registered under the Partnership Act. If anyone has a sample format of HR policies, please share.

Thank you.

Dear Colleague,

You need to inform the nature of your business activity in Maharashtra, i.e., is it manufacturing or a commercial establishment? HR policies are not prescribed under any labor law, but for framing the same, the relevant provisions under the applicable labor laws have to be taken into account. Pending your clarification, it will be possible to make a value addition to your query.

2) The Minimum Wages Act, 1948: This law sets minimum wage rates for different types of employment in Maharashtra, including for employees working in the jewelry industry.
3) The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965: This law mandates the payment of bonuses to employees who meet certain eligibility criteria.
4) The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961: This law provides for paid maternity leave and other benefits for women employees.
5) The Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948: This law provides for social security benefits such as medical care and cash benefits to employees and their families.
6) The Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952: This law mandates the creation of a provident fund for employees and provides for other benefits such as pension and life insurance.
