As per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act of 2017, women who have completed 80 days in the 12 months immediately preceding the date of her expected delivery are entitled to maternity leave for a maximum of 26 weeks, of which not more than 8 weeks shall be preceding the expected date of her delivery.

Hi, Thanks for sharing the clarity. How the period of 80 days will be calculated ?is it 80 working days on which women actually came to office (excluding sat-sun ad holidays) ? Please advise

The Central Govt. accordingly raised the amount from Rs.2,500 to Rs.3,500 via Ministry of Labor & Employment Gazette Notification No. SO 2831(E) dated 19.12.2011. The notification is available in the public domain.
