Dear Amit,
I too had the same query. After searching over the net, I have found the following classification. I hope this is correct.
Dear Seniors - Please check and advise.
"Zones in Maharashtra The state has been classified into groups A, B, C, D, and D+ according to industrial development.
Group A comprises the developed areas, namely the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR).
Group B comprises the areas where some development has taken place.
Group C comprises the areas which are less developed than those in Group B.
Group D comprises the lesser-developed areas of the State not covered under Group A/Group B/Group C.
Group D+ comprises those least developed areas not covered under Group A/Group B/Group C/Group D."

Dear all,
Municipal corporation and Municipality are two categories. Further, they are subdivided into A, B, C, D. This is based upon the population in the particular city. The same is for Municipality-NAGAR PAISHAD.
Zone I & II are the areas under Metro and other cities, for example, Pune. However, the industry which falls under MIDC, Gram Panchayat, Nagar Parishad are categorized under Zone III.

Dear all,
Municipal corporations covered under Zone I are corporations having the mayor as the chief of elected members. For example, Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nashik, Nagpur.
Zone II municipal corporations are those other than the ones mentioned above, and the area within 10 km of the corporations in Zone I.
Zone III includes areas apart from Zone I and Zone II.
These specifications are only applicable to the Maharashtra state. Gujarat has only two zones as mentioned by Mr. Bhaskar.
Have a great time.

Dear Mr. Nitin (rainbow123),
Does it mean that only Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nasik, and Nagpur municipal corporations have mayors? As far as I know, every municipal corporation is headed by a Municipal Commissioner with executive powers of the house. An election is held to elect corporators, and they, in turn, elect a mayor who heads the party with the largest vote.
In Pune, there are two municipal corporations (PMC & PCMC), and both have elected mayors.
Regards,
Kamal

Dear Ms. Binal,
According to me, minimum wages are the wages periodically declared by the Ministry of Labour for a specific zone. Minimum wages consist of Basic + DA. The Basic amount is determined once, while the DA is revised every 6 months, specifically in March and October.
Dear Seniors/Experts,
If I am mistaken or require corrections, please advise.
