Hi Brinda,
In my organization, we don't have any particular marriage policy. If any of our employees get married, we provide them with 10 paid leaves. Initially, we used to give gifts to the newlywed employee, but later we shifted to providing leaves, which employees found much better.

Hi Babita,
Thank you for your reply. However, our management has decided to provide Rs. 1000 to male employees and Rs. 2000 to female employees. In addition, if an employee's children are getting married, an amount of Rs. 5000 will be given. I am struggling to draft the policy and would appreciate your assistance.
Thank you,
Brinda

Hi,
You could use the following points to frame your policy:
1. Objective - (your aim in introducing the policy viz. helping employees in their time of need, etc.)
2. Eligibility - (who is and not eligible viz. employees on notice period, on probation, etc.)
3. Process - (the process flow, what you expect the employees to do and what they can expect from you)
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Please refer to the previous discussion in this link. You have more suggestions. You can recommend a gift ranging from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 5000, which can be paid as a gift cheque. Alternatively, the concerned employee may be given additional holidays in addition to their regular leave entitlement. These suggestions are applicable to both male and female employees and are considered general welfare measures in companies. In the Hotel/Resort Industry, they offer a complimentary honeymoon package for 3 nights/4 days.
