I am an employee of a private bank where I resigned on 12.10.2018, and my last working day is 10.01.2019. Due to a critical incident involving cash on 08.12.2018, I have been suspended from 11.12.2018, and the bank has given me a letter mentioning that I am suspended until further notice.
So, my query is, as my last day is 10.01.2019, can the bank terminate me during this period? If the investigation is not completed by 10.01.2019, can they terminate me after my last working day or hold my relieving letter for the same? I want to understand what actions they can take considering I have already resigned.

You have resigned but the company has not accepted it. So the relationship of employer and employee persists.
What happened on 08/12/18? If there was an incident being inquired into, the resignation makes it obvious that you are evading facing the issue. From what I can make out, the bank will terminate you only after coming to know from the inquiry what the problem is and who was responsible for the incident on 08/12/18. You need to give full details of the critical incident for better advice.
Presently, the bank is unlikely to terminate you in between or on 10/1/191. The result of the inquiry will be of great importance.
